On Sunday alone, the Shenzhen North Station witnessed a record-breaking 318,000 arrivals, a new single-day high for the station.

“In the early hours of Oct. 6, we introduced 45 high-speed night trains to accommodate nearly 32,000 passengers who arrived in the city overnight,” said Lin Qin, director of the passenger transport department at the station.

The railway station forecasts that the peak period for returning travelers will extend until today, with an anticipated daily average of 420,000 arrivals via Shenzhen’s railway network.

Meanwhile, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan (Shenzhong)Link, which opened June 30, celebrated its 100th day yesterday, reaching a new milestone with 155,000 vehicle trips Oct. 1.

Furthermore, daily vehicle traffic on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, another monumental infrastructure project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, reached an all-time high of over 22,600 on Oct. 5, the highest since its opening in 2018.

China’s railway network is expected to handle 175 million passenger trips during the 10-day National Day holiday travel rush that ends today.
