Longhua is designated as a provincial demonstration base for industrial Internet in Guangdong Province. In 2019, there were over 500 above-scale electronic information manufacturing companies in the district, whose combined output value reached 360 billion yuan, accounting for three-fifths of the district’s total output value of above-scale industrial enterprises and about one-sixth of the output value of the city's electronic information industry. Longhua is home to more than 600 upstream and downstream enterprises along the industry chain, with two world-class enterprises Huawei and Foxconn only separated by one road. It is also home to the Shenzhen Third Generation Semiconductor Research Institute. The 6,067 5G base stations have been built two months ahead of schedule in the district, making it the first district with full 5G network coverage in the city.
